Perfectly Imperfect: A Rowdy, Real-Life Family Session
If you’ve ever worried that your kids are too wild for family photos—this one’s for you.
This session was full of energy, giggles, sprinting, snack breaks, and a whole lot of love. We had Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad, Dads Sister, and the kiddos. And honestly? It was PERFECT. Because real family life is not about sitting still and smiling at the camera—it’s about connection, movement, chaos, and joy. And when you embrace the messy moments, that’s when the magic happens.
Why Rowdy Sessions Make the Best Memories
Kids are meant to move. To climb, chase, explore, and laugh with their whole bodies. When we let go of “perfect” and just play, the photos come alive. This family leaned into the chaos, and it gave us the most genuine, joy-filled images.
From spontaneous piggyback rides to tickle fights in the grass, the whole session felt like one big adventure. No one was forcing smiles—because they were actually having fun.
What to Expect with High-Energy Sessions
I generally start with the posed group shot, most kids take a minute or two to warm up. It's the perfect time to let them snuggle in with Mom or Dad while they get comfortable with me and the camera. And then it is on to
Lots of Movement – We’ll run, play, jump, dance—whatever works for your crew.
Candid Moments – The best photos usually happen in the in-between.
Zero Pressure – I guide gently and follow the kids’ lead. No meltdowns required. Plenty of time for breaks and just chill moments too.
Real Life Is Beautiful (and Worth Remembering)
If your family is full of big energy and big feelings—bring it on. These years are wild, fleeting, and full of love, and I’m here to capture it all in a way that feels honest, beautiful, and so you.
